Ep 144: For The PODCAST That Has Everything (Black Mercy Retrospective)
Wednesday Sep 16, 2020
Wednesday Sep 16, 2020
When Alan Moore first wrote "For The Man Who Has Everything", for Superman Annual #11 he set out to tell a story that explored the Man of Steel's deepest desires. Still considered one of the best single issue stories of all time, the duo behind Watchmen churned out an instant classic that had ripple effects on the comic book medium. Almost 20 years later, the story has been adapted in animation, has had its elements replicated in live-action, and just as recently as the year 2020 has spawned a comic sequel of sorts. Join us as we discuss that Superman issue, its adaptation on both Justice League Unlimited and Supergirl, and the two-part Justice League story Garden of Evil in this ode to all things Black Mercy!

Wednesday Sep 09, 2020

Quite possibly the most popular supervillain in comic book history, The Joker has managed to stay relevant and on the tongues of fans for 80 years. During that time he has adapted and evolved as different creative teams do their best to make their version of the Clown Prince of Crime memorable. DC’s has chosen to commemorate those 8 decades of the dastardly degenerate with a 100-page Super Spectacular, giving the best and brightest artists and writers a shot at celebrating the Harlequin of Hate. In this deep look at the Joker we see why he’s managed to stick around so long, and discuss what makes the sick clown tick in this episode of the Major Issues Podcast.

Unwatchable. Franchise Killers. The Worst of The Worst. These are the words used to describe two films that are largely panned by your modern comic book fan. It's a no holds barred debate with a clear winner so don't hesitate! Listen now!
